I adore Cats... it was the first ALW musical that I saw, but I saw the movie version only... still I think that it's one of ALW's best musicals. I haven't finished reading your review but I think that you are reviewing it greatly... oh and I agree that it's kind of sad that on the current Cats tours we don't get to hear the Rum Tum Tugger play his bagpipes, I always loved that scene so much...

The CATS video is awesome, I love it. I watch it like everyday, lol. John Partdrige as the Rum Tum Tugger is soooooo hot. *cough* Anyway, back to more substantial discussion...
Who are your favorite characters? I love Tugger obviously, and Etcetera is my official favorite. I've considered making a site for her--apparently I like little, underappreaciated girl characters--but then I realized I don't have very much stuff I could put on it. Maybe sometime in the future, huh?

My favorite cat…? That's hard one, I'd have to go with Grizabella, then w/ Mr. Mistoffoles (Sp?), Victoria, and Jemima after... but I love Old Deuteronomy too... it's just so hard to choose. And what about your favorite song? Mine is 'Memory' and 'Jellicle Cats' and 'Macavity'. (But then again I love them all)
...And I think it'd be great if you did a site for Etcetera. I love how you manage Little Meg, so I guess that an Etcetera site would be good too... I think that the unknown characters should have fan sites as well as the main characters do.
Btw- I finished reading your review- it was a great one. ...I'm glad that you got to see Cats and that you liked it... I had the opportunity to go once, when it came to my country but I wasn't into musicals back then.

Ooh, favorite song is sooooo hard to pick! I love "Jellicle Songs for Jellicle Cats", "The Rum Tum Tugger", "Old Deuteronomy", "Macavity", "The Jellicle Ball"...gosh, there are so many good songs in this show! And then of course "Memory" is so classic...
Oh, what country are you in, if you don't mind my asking? Hopefully the show comes back so you can see it then.

I love CATS almost as much as I love POTO. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who watches the video daily.
I don't know where to begin with my favorite characters...actually, let's begin with Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer. *waves "Go Mungo and Teazer!" banner* Those two have been my favorites since the first time I saw the video. They seem like the type to be my best friends- fun, a little mischievous, but sweet.
I also love Jemima, Electra, Grizabella, Demeter, and Etcetera (I fully support the idea for an Etc. site!). The Rum Tum Tugger and Mr. Mistoffelees are great, too. Now, for favorite songs: "Memory," "Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer," and "Macavity." I love all the other songs, too.

Hurrah, another CATS fan! I love Mungo and Rumple! I love Drew Varley and Jo Gibb in the video, I think they were perfectly cast. (I wish the ones I saw live had been as good, they were somewhat disappointing. Ah well.) Also, Rumpleteazer's makeup is probably my favorite of all the cats. Maybe tied with Jemima's. Your mention of the Etcy site idea reminded me: I noticed recently that this site has a very nice little shrine dedicated to her. Kinda leaves no point for me to make one (and I'm planning another, completely unrelated site already anyway), but I love seeing all the Etcy pics from the different productions. |

*squee* I saw CATS live on Wednesday! So, so spectacular. My family had our own box, so we had an awesome view of the stage.
Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer were played by Mark Donaldson and Joanna Silvers, and those two were incredible. They should get awards for how great they were- as good as Drew Varley and Jo Gibb. And, coming from a major Drew Varley fangirl like me, that's saying something!
Our Grizabella, Angie Smith, was just as good. Her "Memory" made me cry, and songs rarely, if ever, make me cry. My whole family agreed that she was the best actress in the show. Great acting, a powerful voice...a perfect Grizabella, IMO.

I personally love Cats. It was the first Broadway show that I saw. I was 4 so I dont remember the details but I love the music. One of ALW's best.
I'm a jellicle cat...who else is a jellicle cat?
