I really loved Jennifer as Meg, and I have no hesitation in saying that I definetely though she was prettier than Emmy Rossum. Maybe Erik got scared off wooing Meg by Madame Giry, then turned his attentions to Christine.

As usual I was just searching Amazon for Jennifer Ellison stuff and came across something new. This is just crazy, Jennifer Ellison + workout dvd = madness!!!!! Because its the UK Amazon, you have to convert the price and it comes to like $50 something but since i'm crazy like that i'm pre-ordering it. Think about it...Jennifer Ellison in spandex.....

HER generous curves concealed only by a skimpy bikini have graced the covers of countless men's mags, but Jennifer Ellison is as insecure about her body as the next woman.

Speaking in her rich Scouse accent, the sexy former Brookside star confides: "There's not a girl who is happy about their body, is there? My bum and thighs, that's where the weight goes on - and it's the last place where I lose weight. My mum and sister have the same problem."

Sitting in a bar in Central London, Jennifer is sweeter than you'd imagine. Gone are the days when you'd see her falling out of a club wearing a frock designed to draw attention to her 32DD chest. These days Jennifer prefers nights in with her fiance Tony Richardson, 27, and her family.

And that's why she has no intention of joining the size 0 craze currently sweeping celebland. Her priority is to start a family in the near future and that means hanging on to her curves.

"I think it's sexier being curvy," she explains. "No girl wants cellulite, but it's good to have something to grab. Tony prefers me with curves.

"Plus it's healthier. I want to be a mum. My baby will need to form in my body. Why risk that just to get into a size 0 skirt?"

Jennifer has a mature head on her shoulders. At just 23, she already has a five-year soap career behind her, as well as a role in Hollywood movie Phantom Of The Opera.

On top of that, she's modelled underwear range Young Attitude, is now touring the country in the musical Chicago and is about to star in BBC2's The Verdict. She also has a new fitness video to help people shift the Christmas pounds.

She certainly believes in keeping busy - and it's all down to her craving to be a mum. As far as Jennifer's concerned she has three years to achieve everything before trying for a baby.

"When I'm a mum I want to be there all the time," she explains. "I don't want to give up everything - but I'd want more time than now."

Jennifer dreams of five children, but if things go as slowly as her marriage plans, then it could be a while before she's changing nappies.

Jennifer and businessman Tony have been engaged for five years. He proposed one year after they got together and there has been talk of a fairytale wedding ever since. So is there a date in the diary for next year?

"We are going to get married but it's not a major issue," Jennifer says. "There's no rush. He knows I'm not going anywhere and what does it really change? Nothing. I want to get married for the day and the commitment but it won't change things. I'm faithful to him and vice versa. Even if I got pregnant I wouldn't rush down the aisle."

For now she is focusing her energy on her role as Roxie Hart in Chicago. The job means she can only return to her Liverpool home at weekends - which is tough for such a confirmed homebody.

"My contract is until May," she says. "I do miss home a lot. I'm close to my mum and my two dogs. But Tony is travelling with me. It would be too lonely to do it on my own."

But there is a positive side to dancing every day - it means never having to go to the gym.

When Jennifer first tackled the role two years ago she lost a stone. This time she has only lost a few pounds but she feels in great shape.

"I can't do the gym," she laughs. "Put me on a treadmill and after four minutes I've got a stitch. Anyway, a dancer's body is different to a gymgoer's. They're lean, not muscular."

But she admits she finds it hard to eat healthily.

"I love roast dinners and takeaways," she grins. "And I get through three bags of crisps a day."

She may feast on unhealthy snacks, but her eyes light up when she talks about cooking.

Since winning Gordon Ramsay's reality show Hell's Kitchen, she always makes sure there's a hot meal on the table at night when she's home.

"I love cooking," she says. " I used to microwave everything, but Hell's Kitchen changed all that. Tony has certainly benefited!"

It was her love of dancing that prompted her to make a fitness video. With the shelves groaning under the weight of celebrity exercise DVDs it's easy to wonder what another can offer. But Jennifer has put her heart - and sweat - into it.

"I didn't want to wear big hair pieces or leg warmers, it's a real workout," she laughs. "The video is two hours long so it's value for money. And it's not a set workout so you can make it harder or easier."

When she's not in the musical, Jennifer keeps in shape by going to a dance class once a week and doing toning exercises at home.

"I always think people tend to either have a bigger bum and flat tummy or skinny legs and a bigger tummy. I have got a bum but I've got a flat tummy so that's OK.

"My favourite parts of me are my boobs and my eyes. I like having brown eyes and blonde hair."

Jennifer is a size 10 and weighs just under 9st - healthy for her 5ft 6in height.

"But I don't dwell on weight," she insists. "I go by whether my jeans feel tight or loose."

Which all leads to the question - will we be seeing more flesh-flashing photos of Jennifer in the future?

"I'm not against glamour shoots," she ponders. "Coming out of Brookside, it got me known and I never did anything I'm ashamed of. But now I really want to concentrate on acting. Although I don't mind stripping off for a film if the role is right."

We're sure her many male admirers will be pleased to hear that.

TONE UP THE EASY WAY

JENNIFER likes to keep her body toned, and regular exercise to firm the muscles is a great way to burn fat. This is because muscle is "metabolically active" and burns more calories than fat, even when you're not moving.

A recent study found that regular weight training boosts your basal metabolic rate (the amount of calories you burn when resting) by about 15 per cent. For every extra pound of muscle you put on, your body uses around 50 extra calories a day.

At the gym, start by training with light weights three times a week for around 20 minutes. Or you could try using baked bean cans at home to tone up wobbly arms. Not only will you be burning more calories, you'll look better.

JEN'S DAILY DIET

BREAKFAST: Special K or Ricicles with semi-skimmed milk. Or toast with syrup on top.

LUNCH: Chicken and pasta. "I love fruit and veg so I have plenty of that, too."

DINNER: Salmon and veg or chicken and veg with rice.
