I was trying to think of something to start a thread on in this section when I went "Hey, I love American Idol. Everyone I know in real life loves American Idol. Maybe they'll like American Idol here too." So...does anyone here watch it? I think this is gonna be a good season, judging by the auditions. My favorite auditionee was definitely Tan Girl, but I don't have a definite favorite to win yet. My sentimental favorite is the cowboy (Garret, I think, is his name), but he needs to work on his singing. Of course, no one will ever overshadow Clay in my heart--I fully intend to marry him. Anybody else as addicted to A.I. as me? |

I wish I could say I was, but I only watch the tryouts ...my mom watches the show I know and I wonder why...she talks about it sometimes and if I'm with her or she is home we HAVE to watch it when I would much rather watch something else...I don't hate it..I just have to say I'm not as addicted as the rest of the country

Really? See, I liked Gerry better than David Cook. David Cook made me cover my ears; Gerry didn't. Granted, Gerry was the first Phantom I saw...
As for David Archuleta... It was a pleasant little suprise. Not stellar, but I liked it. Which suprised me.

Well I didn't love David Cook's version or anything, but I thought he sounded a lot more natural than Gerry. I'd much prefer to never hear that song with a rock inflection ever again, but I felt like David Cook was doing his best to sing it the way it was written (apart from the final notes, I don't know what that belting was all about) whereas Gerry's version sounds like he was trying to put rock into it. I admit, though, that I'm biased, since David Cook is my favorite this season.
