It isn't THE worst rendition of the song I've ever heard... I'll admit, though, that I didn't like all his pronounciations, but still... I'll give him credit for not totally butchering the song until the last note. "Night" was the possibly worst I've heard in a while.

Well don't discredit him too soon Andrew Lloyd Webber even said himself he could be Phantom (of course Webber is also making that awful sequel a musical which brings his belief that he is a great composer down a slight notch)

He's wasnt too bad. I just didnt enjoy his "be" and "night". I found this in the Related Videos for the America's Got Talent Music of the Night. I really like the spin these guys have to the song. More of a upbeat jazzy pop song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDcQmYn_gPQ

I agree with midnightangel on the first guy posted. It wasn't painful to listen to, but I wouldn't want him to actually play the Phantom. My niggest problem with him was his diction, or lack thereof. I can't help have a giggle at their expense; a boy band that sings showtunes, even sings them pretty well, just seems amusing to me. By the way, one of the guys in Teatro (the one that sang the entire second verse) is currently playing Raoul in the London production.

While we are on the subject of that particular song I rememberd a video on youtube from Days of Our Lives (2001) where Kyle Lowders sing that song to Nadia here it is: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bsg1PGu38akI wish I could have gotten some dialogue before it and there is a mess up during the video but only once I think...
