While searching for information for the Meg actresses page I'm currently working on for the site, I came across this 2004 review of the stage show, and I was happy to notice that Meg got special attention: Perhaps the single best performance, however, is Kate Wray's portrayal of Meg Giry, Christine's confidant and the theater's prima ballerina. The role demands a good grasp of comedy and a mastery of classical ballet, and Wray manages to bring a dancer's grace to every movement she makes. It is hard to look both innocent and languidly graceful while trying to rifle a desk, but when done correctly, it is hysterical. Meg, alone on stage for the show's enigmatic final scene, holds up the mask of the phantom, and the scene often comes off as "Hamlet"-in-drag rather than a chilling and mystical conclusion. Wray leaves the audience with goosebumps. Go Kate!

Ooh, I like that review a lot! Finally, someone understands the importance of Meg's character.

Yes, it's so nice that she's appreciated! So many people act like she's just some cute little prop...
