Susan Kay's version of Phantom is very well appreciated in the Phandom... so I was wondering what is thought of her version of Meg here? I think that she did a good job with Meg, though Kay's Meg is more similar to Leroux's version than the stage version of Meg, IMHO, which is good in a way, b/c Leroux!Meg is a very little known character.
Also, I think that there's at least a tiny hint of E/M on SK's version, I recall that in one part of the book Meg said that Erik could also be the nicest person on Earth or something similar, and Erik (whom was narrating that part) thought that Meg was rather sweet. Not so E/M but, as I said, a hint at least... So I think that Kay did a decent job with portraying Meg... and giving E/M at least a small part.
Everyone else's though on SK's Meg?

I still haven't gotten this book, though I know a lot about it from friends. (My mom said she'd get it for me, she just hasn't gotten around to it yet.)

I thought there was one more bit of Meg/Erik in that novel... He's promised to make her Empress and Garnier says that Erik would make a wonderful Emperor. Erik seems to take this slightly to heart. I know I may be delusional, but Empresses usually marry Emperors...

It's a thing you'll miss easily; I reread it twice before I made the connection. But it is something that would make lovely phanphic....
