I completely ignored Raoul last night when I made these threads, how rude of me! Who are everybody's favorite Raouls?
Christopher Carl, my first Raoul, was wonderful. But I think Steve Barton, the original, is still the best. I love his voice.

I'll let you know if I see a stage Raoul ,but I can't believe the actor they picked for the movie..I think everyone was surprised by his singing voice someone said they heard him sing the duet on good morning america and were blown away by his voice...Patrick Wilson's voice is amazing

He does have a really good voice, and he's been on Broadway. (Not in Phantom, he played Curly in Oklahoma!.) If you want to hear him from GMA, I think that clip is on YouTube.com.

Favorite Raouls... definitely Steve Barton... oh and the one that dubs for the 2004 movie's French version... I can't believe I forgot his name... he was very good, IMO.

On Broadway I saw Michael Shawn Lewis and he was wonderful. I know how everyone doesn't really like stage Raoul but he was really good, very likeable and handsome as well. *blush* Even though I still felt bad for the Phantom he did a great job as stage Raoul.

Really wasnt sure where to put this and I dont think we're in need of a Patrick Wilson thread just yet: We love us some musical theater! And we love us some Anne Hathaway!
Now, both of our loves may be joining forces.
Yes!
The actress is in preliminary talks with producers to star as Sarah in a new Broadway revival of Guys & Dolls, opening next Spring.
Producers are also pursuing Debra Messing (Adelaide), Patrick Wilson (Sky) and possibly John C. Reilly (Nathan).
“Sources say there’s a 50-50 chance that cast will be locked up for a spring opening of the musical, which will be directed by Michael Grandage (Frost/Nixon),” reports the New York Post. Debra Messing is hilarious. And I could definately see Reilly as an AMAZING Nathan! But we're here to talk about Patrick Wilson. For those of you fimilar with Guys & Dolls, do you think he would make a good Sky?

I have unfortunately not seen Guys and Dolls so I can't comment on how good I think Patrick would be in the role, but somehow I find it highly amusing that he could be working with Anne Hathway, since they were originally supposed to star in the POTO movie together. (She turned down Christine because of a prior commitment.)
