What are your favorite costumes from POTO (stage or movie, or both, or another version)? Which ones, if any, do you hate?

My personal favorite from the stage show is Christine's "Wishing" gown. I absolutely adore this dress, as do most phans I know. I wish I could own one like it...then I'd wish I had someplace to wear it. I also love Christine's dressing gown and Carlotta's costumes are all so fun and over-the-top! And stage!Red Death is so. freaking. cool.

I love most of the costumes from the stage show, but I think Christine's original London "Masquerade" gown is ugly. I refer to it as the Hershey's Kiss dress. I've heard others refer to it as the saloon-girl dress. I also don't really care much for the dress she wears in the rooftop scene. It's too frilly for me.

I don't care for most of the movie costumes. Actually, let me rephrase that. I think most of them are gorgeous, but I have issues with how historically inaccurate and needlessly sexy they are. (It's not like they're OMG SO EXPOSING or anything since they're obviously not, but I just think there wasn't any reason for Christine's boobs to be hanging out during "Wishing," you know? But I digress.) But if we're just judging by beauty, then I think they're all great. Except for Red Death. I absolutely cannot STAND movie!Red Death. I know that's a lot of movie phans' favorite, but I just...UGH. No thanks. LOL.

I feel like I'm forgetting a ton of costumes, but it's almost 2 AM, so forgive me.

Stage
All time favorite for me is Il Muto ballet without a doubt, I relaly liked Christine's wedding gown, it was sooooo pretty! And then there's Raoul's Masque costume *swoons!* Christine's Don Juan Rehearsal costume (I like how all her gowns are period correct, unlike SOME director's dillusions *coughjoelshumachercough!*
Christine's Don Juan costume was really pretty, I love all the colors in it. Her dressing gown is so simple, but I love it, the ruffle on it really is such a small detail, but I love it. Hannibal ballet costumes are pretty, I like the skirts. In the masqe I like the Gypsy girl, the Butterfly, the Fish, the Tin Soldier, and Firmen and Andre's costumes.

I actually liked Carlotta's purple gown, (even if it was *coughOUTDATEDcough!*) It was pretty! I hated all of Piangi's costumes. I like Raouls' cravat in "Notes" The wedding dress was pretty, not my absolute favorite, I'm picky because that particular gown wasn't created until a decade later, so...yeah. I liked the Il Muto ballet costumes, but they weren't my absolute favorite. I liked the Think of Me gown, reminded be of Empress Sisi. I pretty much hated the Hannibal ballet costumes, they were so bland. Erik's Don Juan costume, though a bit fabio-ish, did look pretty good, and I liked his waist coat that he always seems to wear. The "Wishing" gown was very beautiful, I liked the AIAOY costumes (on both parts) they went very well together. I like the stage costumes better I think though.

I can't say much about stage because I haven't seen it enough but lots say her dj gown is beatiful..I think it is witih all the pictures I've seen from different stage shows..

Now on to the movie..My absolute fave is her Don Juan costume don't hurt me but I loved it so much I had someone make a replica costume to fit me and I actually took pictures in it...I Loved Chrisine's dressing gown, her masquerade gown was pretty too...I loved the Phantom's Don Juan costume that is my fave not red death...

Oh gosh! My very favorite costume from the stage show is Christine's wedding gown. I love that dress. I also love Christine's Point of No Return gown! Of course I love all the other costumes too, Christine's dressing gown, The Wishing gown, and the Masquerade dress is lovely too. I really love the Red Death costume from the stage show. But my favorite costume for the Phantom has to be his formal evening suit. I also LOVE the fedora! hehe! And I love the ballet girls' tutus! (I'm not a dancer, so if that's not the correct term for their costumes, please feel free to tell me!)

It's unfortunate that I'm not really a phan of the movie's costumes. Don't get me wrong, they were gorgeous, I'm just not sure how well they kept the integrity to that time period that the show's costumes have. That is just my opinion of course!

You're right, it's tutus, there isn't any other term for them but tutus or practice skirts...

Oo, I forgot Phantom clothes! Onstage, his formal suit in POTO/MOTN is my absolute favorite *swoons*. I LOVED his banyan and hat in STYDI and I think his Red Death is soooo much better than the movie one. I think I like his cape better than the 2004 movie too...odd. Oh well. ;D

I think movie or stage I love his cape...but when you see him in the movie when he does the cape swish before motn and during ponr...wow I love those scenes...I want those capes..preferably with him included
