I'm computer illiterate too chorusgirl16. Last year I bought an iPod and I love it! And it's incredibly easy to use.
After installing/downloading iTunes, you can "rip"/"import" CDs. Open iTunes once you put the CD in the computer and the CD will pop up with a list of all the songs. Uncheck the songs you DONT want (all will be checked in advance). In the bottom right hand on iTunes, click "Import CD". All the songs will be imported once they all have a green check mark to the left of the songs you selected. These songs will now be placed in your iTunes Library (labeled Music in the Library category). To put them on the iPod plug the USB cord into the iPod and USB Port in your computer. The songs will now download onto your iPod. iTunes will say "Updating Do Not Unplug" or something like that. The iPod will say "Do Not Disconnect". iTunes and the iPod will no longer say this when it has finished downloading the songs to your iPod.
If it wasnt clear, PM me and I'll try again.

Oh my gosh! phantomphreak4life, Thank you so much for that explanation! I think I really might go buy one, now that I know it's not too hard! LOL. I'm glad to hear that you like your iPod. I think I'm probably one of the only people on the planet who hasn't bought one! My best friends all have them and they've all been urging me to get one! haha! Thanks so much again for your help!

Ironically, I recently bought an IPod (like, two or three days ago) and found myself having difficulties uploading it. So my best friend's little brother tried to explain how to upload the IPod over the phone, and the "My IPod" thing wasn't showing up. He kept telling me where it would be, but it wouldn't show up. So I got really frustrated and "fired" him from instructing me. Ten minutes after getting off the phone with him, I realized my IPod wasn't even turned on! *facepalm* I wish I would have seen this tutorial earlier.

You're very welcome. That's what this board is here for, we gotta help each other out. If you guys need anymore help, lemme know. I'm sure you'll both figure it out though, it's very self explanitory (sp?). Playing around with it for a little while will teach you a lot.

Oh man, iTunes/iPod discussion. I love my iPod once it's got music on it, but iTunes is the bane of my existance. Although, right now, I seem to be winning my ongoing battle with it.
Thanks for being so willing to help everyone, phantomphreak4life, that's awesome!
