Since I know there's not a whole lot to chat about on a message board centered around Meg Giry, I've created this thread for any random discussion. (Basically, so that I can feel like my forum is at least slightly more active than it is. *wink wink*)
So post away! Guests too! I'd love it if you'd register, but if you really don't want to, just leave a random comment here!
So...how has everyone been lately? Anything exciting happening to anybody?

Heh... I always thought that a thread like this one would come in and handy, good idea on creating it.... so... as for something to discuss... *thinks* um... well…. What does everyone think of Phantom in Vegas? On the R.U.G. website it says that it’s going to be… amazing and incredible… but in a more unusual (but good) way I suppose.

Ooh, that's a good jumping-off point!
I have high hopes for it, since Hal is directing, and I trust him. I'm hoping to see it this summer, so if I do manage to get out there, I hope it's worth it! When I first heard about it I was worried, since the last time a new version of the musical came out we got the 2004 movie, which I hate almost everything about...

It's a new version of the musical? Didn't know such thing, but that makes me incredibly happy. I mean it's just great... and I agree about the 2004 movie... I think it was good but... I didn't get along w/ many aspects of it. Many.

Here I am having to defend the movie since I haven't seen the stage show although there were some definite things that didn't make sense to me but the characters were great..even if they weren't the best singers in the world..if another came out I don't know if they could do any better.

Well, by "new version" I mean they're not doing it like the current stage show. It's going to be 90 minutes long and I'm pretty sure it's not going to have an intermission, which means they're going to have to cut stuff to shorten it, and there's supposed to be a lot of cool effects (including a real lake!). When I first heard about it, I was worried they'd just copy the movie, but it looks like they're not.
Opera Angel, I'll let you decide whether or not we should argue about this or not, because I enjoy arguing but I know most people don't. I'll just say that I disagree and I think they could have done much better. If you wanna argue, I'm happy to, if you wanna just agree to disagree, that works too. ^_^

Well I do have a question about the current broadway cast. I have a pretty good idea who will replace Sandra as Christine but what about Phantom and Raoul? Who will take their place (although I wish the howard would stay I heard he was awesome as the Phantom)

Oh well I'll setlle for whomever they choose as long as they do a good job..think they will update it when they do leave?

Yes, they'll update it for sure.
There's been lots of discussion about who'll play the Phantom and Raoul, but I don't think anyone really has any idea. My choice would be Brad Little because he only played the role on Broadway for a few weeks in 2002, but that's just wishful thinking on my part. And I don't even have a clue who might become Raoul.
I know a lot of people are worried that they're just going to recycle more cast members, instead of getting some "fresh blood". I remember people were upset when Howard was brought back in, because--as good as he is--he'd already played the role on Broadway for a long time, and they were hoping for somebody new to take the role.
Ah well, we'll get what we get. I'll be sure to post the info here once it's out.

Well I would never care who was on the cast list since I've never seen the play..If I did it would be for the first time and anyone as long as they are good would be wonderful to see even if they are "recycled" It wouldn't be like that for me

That's true, very true. I hadn't thought of it that way, since I've been following cast lists for the past couple of years.
Hmm, what else to post in the spam topic...? Anybody seen any good movies recently? Reading good books, watching good TV shows?
