I know a lot of people first considered E/M after seeing the 2004 ALW film--whether that was their introduction to POTO or not--so I started thinking about E/M in other versions. Do you think E/M is possible even when sticking strictly to Leroux? ( I'm trying!) Or do you think only the ALW version really leaves that option open?

I guess you could although when I think of Erik/Meg I tend to think of Jennifer Ellison(but since the guy I rp with this is doing Leroux..yes it's possible ) but just with Leroux's Erik I don't know about Meg

I became interested in Merik through the movie, the feature film, the first version I saw, I thought made the pairing much more accessible but I saw room for it in the musical as well.

For Leroux I would have to read the book again since I only have the movie version Meg with Leroux's Erik...but it would be interesting

for me, the pairing is best in the ALW musical or in the 2004 movie, and in a few others, but in Leroux or Kay, it's a bit impossible since Erik died at the end of the story.

Well even if Erik died in Leroux's version he was originally much older than Christine and even if Meg was a bit older than Christine I still think it'd be difficult to see a pairing there

For me I can best see the pairing in the 2004 versions, for the same reasons as everyone else, really. I mean the way she looks at him in Masquerade? Forget about it, she's mentally stripping his clothes off.

I mean the way she looks at him in Masquerade? Forget about it, she's mentally stripping his clothes off. ...I'll need to look for that (and point it out to my anti-E/M friend *smirk*). Anyway, like everyone else, I find the pairing easiest to see in the 2004 movie. I may start looking in my books, though...let the theories begin!

Hello, I am new here.
I have only seen the movie version of Phantom of the Opera, but still, I think that Meg and Erik have a better shot in the movie. They don't really speak to eachother, but they do see eachother and sometimes that is enough. Lol, they so need to get together.[/b]

Definitley the stage, and movie. The book, I don't know, because 1. he died, and 2. she's only fifteen (but if you write her as LerouxMeg, just make her older and him a teensy bit younger! Hee hee hee)

I've attempted a Meg/Erik Leroux!based phic, and I must say, I'm fairly proud of the finished product. www.fanfiction.net/s/3491775/1/Yeah, I know, self-advertising is a bit egotistical, but on the same token, I know of few Leroux writers. I've got a C2 on FFN dedicated to the Meg/Erik ship (called "The Ghostly Dancer") if anyone feels like looking at some Merik stories I've found and adored. A few are Leroux based.
