Erik has been romanticized so much that I probably couldn't write a good story about Erik/Meg or even Erik/Christine...Erik and Meg could be happy together, but it wouldn't be perfect...they need to make a phanfic where Meg actually forgives him (after a time) for everything he has done..He killed people ,kidnapped her best frend and tried to force Christine to marry him by threatening to kill Raoul...Could Meg just fall in love with him no reservations after all that? I do not think so...

If they left Paris, I could potentially see something like this happening, but I agree that while in France, this scenario is unreallistic.

I have a quick question. Why is it that modern E/C and futuristic E/C are popular, but there's hardly (if any) modern or futuristic E/M. I have a modern and a future in the works, but I got this fear that the two genres are unaccepted by E/M phans. Is it just because there are so few E/M phans that no one has gotten around to it?

You know, I can honestly say I never even considered the idea of a modern E/M phic. It just never really occured to me. I can't think of any reason it wouldn't be accepted, at least by E/M phans. I'd certainly give it a try, I don't know why anyone else wouldn't.

It's just one of those things-- E/M is such a smaller community that E/C, so each story I read and write feels fresher, more experimental, you know? Because so much of this stuff hasn't been done in the ship before.

I mean, I remember the first E/M phic I read-- Meg found Erik after the mob did, half dead and in a ditch. She brought him back to her aunt's (where she was staying after the fire) and helped him recover without telling her mother. When her mother did find out, she was at first furious but then proud of her daughter's kindness. Slowly, a relationship formed as Erik recovered, taught Meg piano, and was revealed to the rest of the household. Then Christine invites Meg to her wedding shower and happiness was interrupted. Though now, I think the plot would be considered commonplace, I remember reading it, thinking it sheer genius. I mean, when you think about it, just pulling off the ship is kind of amazing.

I've been looking for a modern day E/M fic for a while. It took me forever but I finally found one, but it's mostly R/C, however it says in the summary it'll be E/M too...They haven't updated in a while so...yeah. But here's the link in case anyone wants it.

Wow, fantastic chapter. I like Erik's indignaty at Meg trying to help him. so...they've been alive for all this time? Slightly confusing, but hey, I'm not picky. If it keeps Erik bitter (WITH A 'C'?!) and Meg bugging him I'm good with that. Can't wait for the next update!

About the "C", he was being sarcastic. I'm not sure if you found it funny or were literally outraged.

Their immortality will be better explained in a few chapters.

No. It was def. a joke. Erik's sense of humor, or rather, me attempting his penchant for puns and play on words... *cough*

I've been updating and am pleased with the reception from the phandom. Even non-EM shippers are reading it, which suprised me. Now, a new question...

How would the phandom react to a science-fiction/futuristic EM phic? My plot bunnies are breeding again and going slightly crazy... lol.

I read an interesting phic the other day. It was called "A Conversation with Meg". Though I will be the first to say the story could have used a beta, the idea was intriguing. It explored the idea that Erik captured Meg because she and the mob destroyed his home and her mother betrayed him by bringing Raoul to him. He told her that she could either kill herself or "resolve herself to replacing his wife". You never really know how the story ends, because it was so open ended . It was utterly morbid and hardly romantic, but I loved it. If anyone wants a link, I can find it again.

Oo, found it, it was awesome! A little dark (okay, really dark) but really, really well done.

Speaking of really, really well done...midnightangel are you going to update Our Today soon? I'm waiting anxiously for the next chapter! ;D
