It was very dark, but it has so many unexplored doors that could have opened that really excites my mind.
I will update Our Today relatively soon. School's started and I'm already saddled with massive amounts of homework. Darn AP! Still, I've been trying to write when inspiration hits or force myself to get something out of my brain, which is frazzled. Still, I'll try to get something up within the month of September.

Oh no rush! I was just wondering if you'd abandoned us! Take your time, homeworks the real kicker.

Yeah. Add in Girl Scouts, Prometheus Club, GT, dance and choir.... Ugh. I've just been so braindead when I get home that everything I write is crap. *le sigh* I really want my story to be high quality, but it's hard to even think straight.
Anyone have any suggestions for writers block?

I had a hunch you took dance, you explained things very well, especially about the classes, do you take Cecchetti or French? (Or something alltogether?!) I wondered when you said Meg began to call out to the girls, naming positions and movements that they must do . I've never taken a French class, but that's how it goes in the Cecchetti classes.
As for writers block, have Erik walk in on Meggy while she's rehearsing by herself or something...*mad giggles* oh you were serious...ummm- have Nadir meet Meg or find out Erik has a job...WORKING with/for Meg. Lol, I would love to find out Nadir's reaction to that! It's great that you're being picky though, it's so hard to find a really good modern fic, nd this is definitly the best I've read!

Actually, my dance class is the one offered at my high school. We're doing the ballet unit for the first six weeks, maybe nine. I have no idea if its Cecchetti or French-- my instructor doesn't even use proper names for things. She calls demi-pointe, "On your tippy-toes but not all the way up." I mean, I get that not everyone has a background in dance, but it wouldn't have killed her to call it demi-pointe. *cough*
I'll try that, but I do want Erik to work undisturbed for a while. Nadir's a good detective and all, but he's not that good. I mean, Erik got away with being the Ghost for several weeks before his friend found out.... I'll write the scene in advance and do a filler or two, I guess. Thanks for the suggestion-- it got me thinking!

No problem! ;D
And Cecchetti is a method of ballet, just like French, Russian, Balanchine, Bournonville, and Vaganova. All are classified as ballet, but each have different techniches (a good example would be that the French method has only two arabasques and the Cecchetti method has five). I was only wondering, it makes a huge difference when you're explaining routines, when you name a dance phrase, it could mean something totally different, depending on how you were taught.
And no worries, whatever you write will be awesome! ;D

Hmm... I use actually, several books on dance as well as my own class (which, BTW, is fun, but has shown me I'm better at writing about ballet than preforming it what with my "weak ankles"). If I get something wrong, feel free to correct me.
I updated and took your suggestion, combined with a bit I wrote a while back that was crap. Now, it's not crappy because there's a reason for everything. Things should flow better for a chapter or two. Little Giry, thanks for all your support!

WHEE! Going to check out the new chapter, and no problem! If you want any help with the ballet in your writing, (I totally cheat when I write) go to www.abt.org/education/dictionary/index.htmlif the link doesn't show up, try American Ballet Theatre, and the site will have a link to the library there. It's got short videos of movements and it's a lot easier to piece together a routine. I read one girls phic, she was trying at least, but she threw so many moves into it, it didn't make sense (some kind of pirouette straight into a grande jete into balancé (a rocking step, very pretty, but kind of hard to do after a jete) I guess she just picked moves that souned pretty. Hope the site helps! And don't worry, wahtever you put will be great, you seem really meticulous (which is a good thing!) ;D

That is awesome!! Thank you so much-- you've got to be one of the most helpful people I know.
Upon looking at the site, I realized that my class is probably Cecchetti. Do you think I should tell my readers that's what I'm basing the class on or just hold my breath? lol.

Lol, I doubt anyone on FF.net would know the difference, no offence to writers there, but FF.net is known rather well for the most idiotic notions. Exhibit A: The fic where Christine thinks ballet is easy (I got so P.O.ed at that, I was shouting at the screen "YOU THINK THAT'S EASY?!") Lol, I would totally tell them, just because I'm snobby like that. ;D

Thanks! I posted chapters nine and ten last night and then... *splat* Nadir's girlfriend is presenting some major roadblocks. Maybe I should just have her killed so I can keep my darling Daroga all for myself. *snuggles Nadir* If anyone here has any ideas about who he could be dating and what sort of plot twists that could throw in Erik and Meg's way, I'll credit you in my story, I swear. I'm having writer's block, again. So... yeah... Thank God Thanksgiving's next week. I may get some more done!
Oh, but I've found some real gems whilst reading. Not being sarcastic. There was one I just finished (if I find the link, I'll post it) about Meg going down with the mob-- non-E/M. I didn't think it was possible, but someone did it and pulled it off without a hitch. If I, such a staunch EM shipper, loved it, y'all would too.

Hmmmmmmm, well, maybe Meg can drop by with music that he forgot at the studio...or she asks him to go for a walk in the park and for some bizzare reason he decides to go becuase Nadir and his girlfriend are driving him up the wall and he can't get any writing done with them giggling and talking all the time...or whatever. I'm just throwing stuff out here. LOL, and you know what, I never even noticed chapter nine, so now I have to go read it! Heehee, lol.
Oh, as for girlfriend roadblock, maybe you can have Nadir more interested in her than she is in him and she dumps him...or something. Again just throwing stuff out there. Anyway, great stuff, as usual! ;D ;D

I think I'll try some of your ideas.... Pre-writing is amazingly fun and if they don't work, I'll at least have something to go on. Thank you so much! Edit: I have just done something huge. I have just posted the Prologue to my furturistic, tentative E/M story, Empress. I am scared to death, actually, of how it will be recieved. I'm feeling sickish right about now, because this is my secret little brainchild, which I have been pondering since this past summer. I have major comittment issues (see Wizard for prime example). *headdesk* And Meg doesn't even show up until the next chapter or two. And it's supposed to go in an ExM direction, but before that, there's a hint of ExC, RxC, NxM, and God knows what else. I mean, the phic spans Meg's lifetime from teenagehood to middle age. It's some sort of behemoth! I swear I have no clue what I'm getting into.

Don't be scared! It's really, really good! We all have stories that terrify us to show to others because of what they might say, or they'll think it's not as good as you really hope it is. THe story is AWESOME! I'm hooked already. I cannot WAIT for more! EEE! And HUZZAH for Nadir/Meg pairing! SO not enough N/M love. And another huzzah, you wrote Meg UGLY! YAY! I'm so happy. See the beauty in the art, not the person.
Degas said something along the lines of "Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." and you've definitly given something wonderful. I love your work because it's so great to read! It's like Charles Dickens and Edgar Allen Poe all in one. (sorry if you don't like Poe...)I'm excited now, for both stories! ;D
