Don't worry about delays, we all completely understand! (I especially do, with the way my schedule has been lately, haha.) Good luck getting through the crap book.

My sister recently checked the book out from the library, and I don't think I can get past the preface. I read it. The blasting of the Persian and all other things Leroux made me so angry, I couldn't read it any more. I'm sorry, but if he's gonna mess around that much with Leroux's world, Forsyth shouldn't even call his characters "Erik" or "Madame Giry". He should just write original fiction.

He should just write original fiction. I honestly think he'd have a shot writing original fiction. I mean his writing sucks but I think he could have pretty good ideas to create his own world. He just needs to stay out of our world...

So I finally decided to write a review for the next chapter, chapter 6. I got the book out from under my bed (that's where I kept it since I just cant bare to look at it) and opened to the page and skimmed it quick to refresh my memory of what it was about. I thought, "Silly me! I forgot! This chapter is about absolutely nothing that has to do with the characters or the story!"
And I thought I was the Master of rambling on about nothing. But clearly Frederick Forsyth takes the cake on this one.

He does tend to ramble about pointless things. I was reading over my sister's shoulder in the car and the guy just can't shut his mouth! And his characters are like that, too. It was a chapter narrated by Meg and she sounded so brainwashed and OOC it wasn't even funny.

If they decide to take this pointless story to stage..ALW will be a laughing stock!

If they decide to take this pointless story to stage..ALW will be a laughing stock! Exactly. Why would he risk everything he has for this stupid idea? His fame, his respect. The show would flop and he'd NEVER be able to make a comeback.

This book makes me want to get hit by Mack trucks. Chapter 7: The Lesson of Pierre de Chagny POV: N/A (It's all dialogue) SO! We open this chapter with Pierre (that is just sooo cliche French, cant Forsyth be more original?) getting his schooling from Father Joe. We have Pierre...and Joe. Pierre...and Joe. ?? Pierre, who is 12, is very skilled in history. Honestly, I couldn't care less. He questions Father Joe about his background, which has nothing to do with the story so I'm not going to write it. Pierre goes onto the deck and sees the Statue of Liberty. Now wasn't that a waste of paper, folks? 10 pages of nothing!!! If you couldn't already guess, Pierre is Christine and Raoul's son...or is it? Let's recap, we've had 7 chapters, 7 POVs, 7 different writing styles....Seeing a pattern?

Well, according Forsyth, Raoul doesn't seem able to have children, so Pierre is obviously...
Christine and Andre's child!
Haha. No. Might as well be. Add some intrigue to the plot.

I bet anyone of you could rewrite this story and actually turn it into an e/m fanfic..that would certainly make it readable

Pierre and Joe. Pierre and Joe. PIERRE AND JOE.
That's my favorite thing about this book so far. I swear, I'm gonna write a story about twin brothers named Pierre and Joe, just because those names together are made of win.
