Somebody has published a Meg/Erik novel! It's called The Phoenix of the Opera and it's by Sadie Montgomery. Here's the summary I found on Amazon: The Phantom of the Opera had released the love of his life, Christine Daaé, from his possession and retreated to his subterranean lair-to die. Young Meg Giry remained fascinated with her friend's captor, whom she would not permit to destroy himself. Through Meg's care the Phantom returns to life and makes his courageous savior his protégeé. But can the Phantom, hunted by Parisian authorities and Christine's husband, the dashing Count de Chagny, escape his criminal past? Can he forget his first beloved or will he continue to haunt Christine, as she does him? Will Meg, who hungers for his love, be able to heal his heart and make him her own? The Phoenix of the Opera explores the limits of redemption and the power of love, taking us into the tortured souls of its protagonists. It is a grand tale of despair, obsession, rekindled passion, and the power of love.I have no idea how good it is since I just heard about it this morning, but I thought I'd let you all know. In case you're interested, here's the Amazon page about it.

I hope it's good! It'd really suck to have the first E/M novel (that I'm aware of, at least) and Meg's first lead in a novel be just glorified fanfiction. If any of you get it, you HAVE to post reviews!

So today after practice I made my mom take me over to Borders. I ask someone to help me find the book and she'd never heard of it so she went to look it up. And to my luck (our luck really), they didnt have it!!!!! Typical. She's ordering it for me and said I should call in a week. It could take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Apparently the book is so new that Borders doesnt even have it in their warehouse so it needs to be ordered from the publisher. GRR!

It's not just borders though, 'Phoenix' isn't on the shelves ANYWHERE! It really sucks . My dad ordered it for me on Tues. from Barnes and Nobles, they said it should arrive by Mon. so here's hoping . The book came out in February though, so it can't be because it's so new, can it?

Sounds interesting. If it ever comes to any of the branches of my local library, I'll be sure to check it out. I don't buy many books really except used and rare so I may never get a chance, but I'll keep an eye out for it.

yah it really is. She's probably worried though that all she will hear me talk about is the book. In her mind she's probably like, "oh great more phantom. Just what Chelsea needs."

Lord...NO! It's just as I feared. It started out okay, then, she started going into the ENTIRE movie...*groans* and THEN, the WORST part. "Chief Inspector Leroux" NOOOOOOOO!!!!! STOP TAKING THE NAME OF LEROUX IN VAIN! Second worst part was when Meg takes Erik's clothes off to tend to him. Please. You dont' need to strip someone to put them in a blanket. Sheesh. I'm incredibly dissapointed, but not terribly shocked. I expected badfic. (sorry, I have high standards for phanfiction, especially for Erik/Meg) Honestly, I think I've read something similar to this on FF.net. Sorry. Just not very impressed. Two thumbs DOWN.
